Anglers looking to specifically target large and abundant Alaska King Salmon will find the best fishing during these dates. Rockfish are plentiful and Halibut fishing can be targeted.

July is the opening of Lingcod fishing season & often brings the Island’s best weather. Halibut start to move into shallower water & rockfish are abundant. Alaska King Salmon, Coho, Pink, & Chum Salmon are also caught in July.

Coho Salmon move into the waters near Old Harbor, Alaska and are extremely plentiful. Late August also provides excellent bottom fishing opportunities, great rock fishing and a number of King Salmon.
